I continue to enjoy working with the youth of Portland via art classes, camps, and birthday parties, but my devotion to painting has been my strongest focus. Many opportunities have presented themselves lately, and my 2014 is booking up fast.
As I eagerly await my incomparable carpenter to make me more panels, I share two exciting openings this Friday, June 21st.
Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts
For the second year in a row, I will have three paintings in the Juried "Artist's Vision" Show, part of the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts at the Lakewood Center in Lake Oswego, OR. The event runs Friday through Sunday.

New Member Show, Rental Sales Gallery, Portland Art Museum
Each year, the Rental Sales Gallery attached to the Portland Art Museum adds new contemporary artists from Oregon and Southwest Washington to their roster with up to five works. In 2013, I was one of eight new artists accepted to rotate works through the gallery for sale (or rent, in the case of Museum members.) It is a model I have seen mostly on the West Coast, with Seattle and Los Angeles having similar galleries in their art museums.
I am excited to meet the fellow new members at the on Friday, where all of our works will open in a New Member showcase. (I am also happy to say at least one of my works has already sold, two days into the show!) Some of my precious favorites are included in the show and now live at the gallery, shown below.
